Adding Feldenkrais to expertise

The Learning Method Chosen by Experts

Since introducing this, my clients tell me they feel lighter and more relaxed.

My clients immediately felt lighter and more relaxed with just small movements. Hearing their responses gave me real confidence in this method.

I became convinced of its effectiveness during the course of treatment.

Strength training alone had limits, but re-educating movement released tension and made recovery more natural

Physiotherapist

Lee**

It added depth to my teaching method.

My students began to experience 'understanding their movement' rather than just correcting their posture. This allowed us to create sustainable, positive changes.

Feldenkrais Method

What is Feldenkrais?

Habitual tension that cannot be resolved by muscle strengthening alone.

Even in simple actions like walking, sitting, and breathing, we have been accumulating unconscious tension. Strengthening our large muscles might help us cope for a while, but it's like moving around in a suit of armor. The exterior may appear strong, but the inner tension remains.

Rediscover movement, find comfort in your body.

Feldenkrais teaches us to relearn the ways our brain, bones, and muscles cooperate. Just as children naturally familiarize themselves with their bodies through play, we move slowly, feeling each small motion. In this process, the body relearns its most comfortable movements based on the principle of neuroplasticity.

The principles of Feldenkrais

Feldenkrais Stage 3 Principle

1

You become aware of your body through small, subtle movements.

We introduce small movements and guide students to observe their breathing, center of gravity, and points of contact.
Through this process, they become aware of unnecessary tension and discover new possibilities.

2

By discovering the difference, you shift to a more comfortable path.

We guide students to repeat and vary the same movement in different ways, allowing them to directly compare the differences. Through this process, the efficiency and freedom of the whole body expand.

3

The movements you learn become deeply ingrained in your body.

We help students apply new movement patterns to everyday actions such as walking, sitting, and turning.
Based on the principle of neuroplasticity, the comfortable movements they learn lead to functional and lasting change.

"With small and comfortable movements, the brain discovers easier ways to act. Students let go of tension, their breath flows naturally, and movement becomes smooth. For instructors, it’s the moment when even the same lesson feels lighter and far more effective."

About the Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method is an innovative approach to somatic learning developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, a distinguished scientist and judo teacher. More than simple exercise, it is a process of re-educating the nervous system through movement, with the aim of restoring health, enhancing psychological well-being, and alleviating pain or anxiety. Grounded in the principle of neuroplasticity—the nervous system’s lifelong capacity to change and grow—the Method is practiced in two primary formats: ATM® (Awareness Through Movement), conducted in group classes, and FI® (Functional Integration), delivered through individualized one-on-one lessons.

Who was Moshe Feldenkrais, the founder of the Feldenkrais Method?

Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais (1904–1984) was a scientist who studied physics, engineering, and mathematics, and was also among the first judo instructors in Europe. He received his doctorate at the Sorbonne in Paris and conducted research at the Curie Institute. After suffering a severe knee injury in his youth, he drew upon all his knowledge to heal himself, and in the process developed the Feldenkrais Method.
